A credit report is a report of an individual's credit history prepared by a credit bureau and used by a lender in determining a loan applicant's creditworthiness. Many companies use your credit rating as a way to mesure your ability to reimburse debt. It is used not only by credit card companies and mortgage companies, but also by landlords, cell phone providers, and other companies. There are several companies that will provide you with a copy of your credit report online.
